Trend Day
Definition
A trend day is a session where price moves mostly one way from near the open to near the close, with shallow pullbacks and a close near the day's extreme.
Detailed Explanation
Trend days usually start with a real catalyst and heavy opening volume, then stay on one side of VWAP for hours. They matter because the normal day trading habit of taking quick profits leaves most of the move on the table, while fading the move gets run over. They can't be known in advance. Traders read the first 30 to 60 minutes for clues, then treat the day as a likely trend day until price says otherwise, usually by losing VWAP on rising volume. A morning that looks like one and then reverses is called a false trend day.
