Swing Low
Definition
A swing low is a trough on a chart: a candle whose low sits below the lows of the candles on both sides of it.
Detailed Explanation
A common rule asks for two higher lows on each side, so a swing low can only be confirmed two candles after it prints. In an uptrend, each new swing low should sit above the last one, and that rising series is what traders connect to draw a trendline. The most recent confirmed swing low is also the usual reference for a stop on a long trade, because a close under it means the staircase of higher lows has broken. Stops left exactly at an obvious low can be tagged, so many traders leave a small buffer under it.
